actually, i think the heart thing is because when you feel a deep emotion, such as, say, when someone say's something that 'really hurts you', you feel a pain in your chest cavity.

from my understanding this would be because your brain responds to the emotion by causing your heart to skip a beat, your breathing to constrict, maybe cause you to gasp? hormones are pumped around, adrenaline might even start going, but then again, it could just be me who responds to such things in this way. =p for someone else, the emotional physical response might be completely different. It depends on the person and the culture, but it usually seems to centre around the heart, which we all know is quite definitely sitting around the lungs =p

and um, i'm not going to answer the chocolate one...i don't wanna go into religious debate on here =p
