Chantal,

I myself may have a solution for you. Personally I would suggest not worrying so much about protein "powders" but focus more on branch chain amino acids and possibly L-Glutamine. Here is why:

First, branch chain amino acids or bcaa's are most readily used when exercising. They are used up for energy when calorie intake is low or when the body is in ketogenesis. A lot of times, especially if a person is suffering from digestive disorders, they cannot take too much protein due to the inability to digest the product. It literally can take anywhere from 3-4 hours for the stomach to empty its contents of solid proteins. If one is taking a soy whey protein or milk whey protein, it digests way too fast and can covert to fat.

BCAA's can be taken in tablet or capsule form. I know you are taking the liquid products from the company we spoke about, and if they have liquid bcaa's that would be a wonderful way to get them. But personally I would suggest you get at least 10 grams of bcaa's a day. I believe this would certainly help while bypassing the need for protein powders, which by the way, break down into bcaa's and are use for other purposes in the body.

Next, I suggest taking L-Glutamine. L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body. It is there for a variety of reasons. One, it helps take all the other aminos up into the body to be utilized maximally. L-Glutamine is also anticatabolic meaning that when you are sick or under severe stress it goes to work to help fight cortisol, which is a muscle wasting hormone. It can also aid in energy production. If your body hurts, or your muscles ache, it could be a sign of low L-Glutamine stores. You can get this in a powder form.

Now another supplement, which I didn't list to begin with is called Muscle Synergy. Muscle Synergy is the very first supplement that I know of that was actually developed in the medical community, I believe around the New York area (don't hold me to the actual location, I just remember that it may be there).

Muscle Synergy was developed for aids patients who were losing muscle mass. This cocktail was developed for them to slow the loss of muscle tissue from the disease or possibly reverse it for a short time. In many cases there was as much as an 8lbs weight gain when these aids patients took the supplement. It may not have as significant an impact on healthy people, but considering what you are dealing with, this just might be what the doctor ordered. I don't remember everything in the supplement, which is in pill form, but I do remember two ingredients which are creatine and HMB.

I took the supplement a few years ago and I put on a lot of mass and my strength went through the roof. This was the year my back was giving me so much problem and eventually later that year, had to have back surgery. I am preparing to start the supplement once again.

I have seen a lot of success with using these supplements simply because they work with the body because it is what the body needs. You can order these supplements through Beverly International in Cold Spring Kentucky. I have no financial interest in the company so when I suggest them to someone, it means I truly believe in what the make. They are a small company and have no outside financial intrests that force them to do aggressive marketing and cut back on the quality of the product like some of the larger bodybuilding supplement companies do.

Their number is: 1-800-781-3475. You should ask for Lana. I know her personally and I believe she will take the time to help you.

I will continue to pray for you in order to see God's ultimate will, healing for your body, which is your daily bread, to manifest itself from this condition you have.

Remember "By His stripes you WERE healed." (emphasis mine)I say were because the scriptures tell us we were healed on that day some two thousand years ago.

All of us stand in agreement with you for your healing. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are healed. Together we all take authority over this condition you have, and we bind it in the name of Jesus and command this affliction to be removed from your body and that you may walk in the glorious manifestation of God's precious Holy Spirit praising His holy name for the mighty works that He has done for you. Amen.

Let me know how things go. There will be others that will post here at some time that will give you some insight and help in the direction you may want to consider also. I will trust God in His infinite wisdom to lead you in the paths that you should go.

Take care and God bless.

JR
