Good day all you mighty men and women of God! As warriors for Christ, continue to stand against all the forces of heall and keep sending all the demons of hell into a herd of pigs! Praise God.

Before I start, I want to urge you to first and foremost, pray for all the victims of hurricane Katrina. Over 90,000 sq. miles have been affected by this devestating disaster. In fact, more damage and probably more lives will be lost than during the tsunami last year. And when you compare it to the other major disasters, man made, 911 and the atomic bomb being dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, there is going to be more physical destruction and maybe even more loss of life.

Let me say this now: GOD DID NOT DO THIS!!!!!! Remember the story of Jesus in the boat? He calmed the storm; Jesus never went against what His father in heaven was doing. So when He calmed the storm he was rebuking Satan. Remember, Satan is the prince of the power of the "air", he does have control on this earth even over the elements. If it were not so, then why would Jesus calm the storm? Read the story even further and find out what happened on the other side? jJesus met a demon by the name of legion, remember? Why do you think that storm brewed up? The man who was delivered from that demon became a missionary, remember?

So let's do what we can to help these people; Give money, pray, do whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to do. Prepare to go there if He leads you to do so. But whatever you do, pray for them and our government and pray for the protection of our nation during this time because we have a big weakened area and it could be that terrorists would love to take a shot at us right now. Pray Psalm 91 over our nation now, please. Thank you and God bless you.

Now on to my topic for this week:

" Behold - I give you power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Luke 10: 19

You have heard the old BJ Thomas song, "Another somebody done somebody wrong, song" haven't you? I have. What a catchy tune that was. But it got me to thinking when I read this scripture.

Jesus obviously wanted us to know that we are not helpless little lambs being led away to slaughter by satan; In fact Jesus said He has given us power, not weakness over all the power of the enemy. That means we are all warriors, not victims. The only victim is suppose to be satan. Not you or anyone else.

When you really study this scripture closely, Jesus is telling us that He has given us power and authority over Satan, not our fellowman...hummmm.....

No matter how mean they are to us (and trust me, I know how mean people can be). We all too often ( and I am guilty of this myself) blame others for how they treat us and act toward us. They simply are under Satans influence, not the Holy Spirits, even if they proclaim to be a Christian.

Remember, Paul says that we don't wrestle against flesh and blood but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies. (Ephesians 6:12)

Look also as what Paul says in 1st Corinthians 3:3;

" You are still worldly, for since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? "

Ooohh that one hurts.

And look at this: "That which is not faith, is sin"

Jealousy, gossip, false accusations, anger, bitterness, lies, deceit, manipulations and such are all sin. Has anyone attacked you lately with any of these? I bet they have. Just recently someone tried to not only decieve me but manipulate me, and according to the Bible, that is what real witchcraft is.

Let me ask you this: Have you attacked anyone recently? It doesn't matter if they hurt you or not, your response should be as follows:

1. Always operate in the love of Christ. If we don't have love in our heart, chances are we really don't know Christ.

2. Always and immediately forgive the person offending you. Jesus did just that right there on the cross and since no one has hurt us to the point of shedding our blood and killing us for our faith, it only makes sense that we can forgive also. Forgiveness disarms Satan and prevents a root of bitterness from getting started. That is a whole bunch of other problems you don't even want to think about.

3. Identify the true enemy that has hurt you; Satan. Others who hurt you are being managed and manipulated by Satan; he's the true enemy. In fact pray for this person because if they claim to be a Christian and are activly engaged in ministry yet they are participating in these behaviors they are either decieved in thinking they are a Christian or they are and have no spiritual authority and Satan is leading them around like he has a bit in their mouth. They are in such danger!

4. Once you have identified Satan, then attack him and his forces. Refer back to today's scripture if you need to. Use the name of Jesus. Take authority in His name. Pray, fast, forgive and bind up the enemy. You have that authority, the scriptures tell us so.

5. Pray: Pray the prayer given`to us as directed in Matthew 5: 44-45:

" Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you that you may be children of your Father which is in heaven."

Notice Jesus did not say that those who were attacking you, even though they call themselves Christians would be called children of the Father, but rather, those who are being persecuted and praying for their persecutors will be called children of the Father. Interesting isn't it?

We cannot ask God to strike down those who persecute us because He is a God of great mercy; He waited on you didn't He? And besides, what would Jesus do?

Additional scripture reading: Matthew 6: 6-15
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

May God ricly bless all of you this week. Please keep me in your prayers as there is a lot I am needing to accomplish with my new job. I am thankful that I have favor with the owner and CEO of the company and he is looking to me to help get the employees in shape and healthy. So just remember me in prayer when you pray.

Remember, be Christ to someone today; give them water to drink, food to eat, clothes to wear, medical aid or just sit next to someone who feels out of place. Be a friend to someone, please. I sometimes think that is probably the best thing we could do is just sit down and talk with someone. There is nothing worse than being alone.

Jesus,never needed the disciples while He was on the earth,they needed Him. Jesus always had the Father by His side at all times. But when God had to turn from Jesus at one point, Christ cried out, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" At that point Jesus knew loneliness. Don't let someone suffer from this horrible event. You are the cure to loneliness.

I pray you all have a great Labor Day weekend. Remember the people of the gulf coast and keep them in prayer.

Have a great week. Remember continue to glorify God with your body and all that you do.

J.R.Smith
