Part Two (after Sami has been exposed)

Carrie glanced in the mirror at herself and grinned. She couldn't believe she was finally going to marry Austin. She had
waited so long for this day to come and it was finally here. Carrie heard a knock on the door.
"Come in!" she said cheerfully. She glanced at the door as it slowly opened. Mike walked in, closing the door behind
him.
"Hi, Mike! I am so happy we exposed that little witch! Without you, I wouldn't be marrying Austin today. Thank you
so much, Mike!
Mike forced himself to smile. His heart was breaking, and he didn't know if he would ever stop loving Carrie. He felt
defeated.
"Mike, is everything ok?" Carrie asked, taking note of his sadness.
"I'm fine, Carrie," he lied, looking away from the beautiful woman standing in front of him. She looked absolutely
stunning in her wedding dress and it broke his heart to know that she was marrying some other man.
"Hey, Mike?" Carrie said.
"What?"
"What is it that you wanted to tell me while we were on the train? It seemed important."
"It was nothing, Carrie. It's not important. Hey, before you walk down the aisle, I have a question for you," Mike
said.
"Ok, shoot," Carrie said.
"Do you really think you should marry Austin today? I mean, you guys have been apart for so long, and maybe you
should give it some time before you get married."
Carrie's smile turned into a scowl.
"How could you say that? I know I want to marry Austin. I have been wanting this practically all my life, and you are
trying to ruin it for me! Get out of here!"
"Carrie, just listen to me this one time, and then I will leave you alone and never bother you again. Please," Mike said
with urgency.
"Why should I? I am beginning to think you don't this marriage to happen."
"You have it all wrong, Carrie. I want you to marry Austin, but not until you really know that you want to be with him
for the rest of your life. You two need to get to know each other all over again. You two have been apart for long,
and you don't even know each other that well anymore. All I'm suggesting is that you wait awhile. Get to know Austin
all over again."
Mike began to turn away and walk towards the door. Carrie took in all these words and let them sink in. She knew
Mike was being sensible and logical, but she didn't know what to do.
"Mike?" Carrie called out.
Mike didn't even turn around. He slowly opened the door and walked out of the bridal room. Tears were in his eyes.
He slowly made it up to the front of the church where Austin was waiting for his bride.
"How did it go?" Austin asked.
"I think I might have upset her, Austin, but I'm sure she'll be all right."
"She is still going to marry me, right?"
"Yes, Austin. Wild horses couldn't keep her from you. She loves you very much," Mike said, almost choking on the
words.
"Hey, man, are you all right?" Austin asked, noticing how upset Mike was.
"I'm fine, Austin. Don't worry about me. This is your day," Mike said. Both men looked at the back of the church
when the music began to play. They waited for Carrie to appear, but there was no Carrie. Five minutes passed.
"She is going to marry me, Mike, right?" Austin whispered.
"Yes. I don't understand this. Where could she be?" Mike said, beginning to worry about Carrie.

Meanwhile, Carrie was in the bridal room, debating whether she should marry Austin or not. Now that she had
exposed Sami and gotten her out of the way, she began to seriously evaluate the situation. Did she want to marry
Austin just so she could beat Sami and win? Or did she want to marry Austin because she sincerely loved him and
wanted to be with him for the rest of her life? Carrie had come off victorious, but was it all worth it? And now, she
was beginning to think about Mike. Why did he want her to postpone the wedding? What was the underlying reason?
How did he really feel? Carrie racked her brain, trying to come up with the answers to all these mixed thoughts rolling
around in her mind.
