If ever a creature not meant for sacred places trespassed here, tonight was the night such dark forces stepped over the threshold.
All bow down to a new god.
...or so it amused him to think. But the pews were vacant and it seemed the worshipping multitudes had more pressing matters in their trivial mortal lives than flattering the vanity of one wandering vampire.
Like a sentient shadow, he slipped without sound around the dark outskirts of the interior, eyes lifted not for the sign of a savior but for the splendid glitter of colored glass that, even with only the midnight light dimly illuminating the stoic iconic figures, still held his attention with a childlike fascination. Never before had he set foot inside this structure before tonight and forget any other occupants! The stained glass offered enough wonder for his sharp senses to absorb him all the long hours of the night.
