Jay,I tie me a rope to the horns and center my knot and hook a rope to a piece of chain down over side of barrel to keep my horns out of boiling and taking the meat off, just plain ole baking soda is all that the companies are selling and calling it everything,,sal soda and etc,but plain ole BAKING SODA is all it is.

Now I use a paint brush to apply Peroxide 40 which is bleach and soak it all day then use VINEGAR to dilute the Peroxide 40 (Get it at Beauty Salons Supplys) wsh good in vinegar then I wash them in some tide detergent and soak them in that suds water for 1 hour then rinse with clear water then put in the SUN for 3 days then mount on plaque.

Thats the way I do it,then spray entire skll with a good NON~yellowing clear Gloss to seal them, they will last forever,Larry
