For the record, as accused in the previous message, I did not call Kenny a drunk and I find it pitiful that some idiot would make such an accusation. Truth be told, I have great respect for Kenny, he stood beside me at the Harshbarger meetings when he did not have to and he did it on his own time. I would have endorsed him when he ran against Bob the first time but I am a bit of a loyalist and felt I needed to support Bob because we served together. That, turns out was a huge mistake as Bob has been a terrible leader. I also find it pitiful that members tear apart leaders when they have no idea what it takes to do the job. It is easy to say things should have been done a certain way and should not have been done but unless you are there sitting in the big seat, you should not make such judgements. None of us have anything to gain by leading the union, in fact, we have lost plenty, family time, health, constant beefs with managers who are vengeful long after our terms are up.So, not only do we get disrespected by our own members, we get beat up by the managers. It is ironic that the same members that we represent day in and day out for 3 year terms kick our ass with stupid cruel accusations. We are not perfect and do not have all the answers just because we hold a title, nor are the members that throw around these cruel statements. It is no wonder that unions are on the demise.
As far as the need for new blood, I agree and have personally talked to new blood about running and they did not want to make the commitment and believe me it takes a huge commitment.
I am not personally offended if the membership feels I am not worthy of being their representative, voting for a leader should be based on truth and not on personal feelings about a candidate. It is all about who can affectively lead this chapter.
So, make your choices and be loyal to your choice as Ken's friend has shown in the previous message.
