Our Union is only as good as its leaders. We keep voting for people like Bob, Laurel, and Dave and expect different outcomes. IBCO hasn't done all that was promised, but a lot more than 509 ever did. Try some new blood that has a reason to fight for us. Bob and Laurel don't care about the 20 year bill because it doesn't matter to them. People that would be effected by it are the ones that would most likely push it. The 20 year bill gets heard next Thursday have they called anyone, arranged for good speakers to represent us. Asked for copies of EPRSs, job duties, job functions etc. to compare with the C.O.'s that work at the other minimum. We need to show that if a C.O. at NECC, NCCI-Min., SHI-Min, or BPRC center gets the 20 year bill we should get it to. If security staff at PCC or SMCC don't deserve the 20 year bill than the C.O.'s at the other minimums don't deserve it either. Since all CPO's like all C.O.'s can be transferred or called on to do security work all CPO's should get it. Job Hazards, PCC is the only medical minmum in the state. The staff there not only face the same possiblity of inmate assaults (like the other minmums), they face the greater danger of being exposed to a large population of chronic medical issues and open mental health inmates. These inmate can only be placed at PCC because it is a medical minimum. These are the unknown and unseen dangerous that the CPO staff face, that the C.O. staff (with 20 year retirement doesn't face). Encourage the E-Board to represent us by getting us some professional help.
