Just a heads up that Qantas limits checked baggage on Aust. domestic flights to a total size of 54" (length + witdh + height) . . . less than half of what they allow in international flights.

The thing about us only being allowed 54" is wrong. We can take what they allow on international flights on Aus domestic flights as long as we keep our international ticket on us. I even called Qantas and asked. So we area allowed:

2 checked bags, with the larger one not exceeding 62" and the total dimensions of the 2 bags not exceeding 106". no checked bag can exceed 70 lbs.

1 carry on, less than 45" (less than 15 lbs), as well as a personal item (laptop, purse, ect)
