So I've bought the tools and I'm ready to do this, but I've run into a couple of problems. I was unable to find EMLA cream, but I did find a triple antibiotic with pain relief cream. I'm guessing it won't be as effective as EMLA, but it'll have to do, and any pain will just have to be endured. Secondly, I was able to find the Stretch Magic string. I've been practicing the surgeon knot on rubber bands, but upon tightening the string, it is easily broken. Is this normal? The string is a green, semi-transparent color and a lot more flexible than I thought it would be. However, I can't even imagine being able to tie a tight enough knot to cut through the frenulum without it breaking first.

Other concerns: I plan on sterilizing the needle with a flame and then soaking it in alcohol, and covering the frenulum with alcohol as well to disinfect the area. Is this good enough?

Additionally, I bought a topical scar diminishing cream which I plan to use after the frenulum has been cut through. Any other stuff I should use?

Any help welcomed.
