Day 3 and little change in the depth of the cutting. New pics below.

I figured out what may be the ideal material for the tying. I was in a bead (jewelry) hobby store recently and they sell stretchable nylon thread. It looks like clear mono-filament fishing line yet it stretches! I thought it really cool but didn’t have any uses for it at the time. I’ll try to find some tomorrow. :-)

I’ve added captions to the pics and added two more from Day 3.
