My daughter was one of the performers last year and she did not receive her invitation until Dec. 9. We knew an OT from the year before (2007) who was asked to perform at MA 2008 and she also received her invitation in December. One of these two was a finalist and award winner and the other one did not win anything or make finals. Last year's e-mail stated: "Once I have confirmation I will pass on all the details! If you do accept this opportunity please do not release the information until the MAOT offices have. This will be around December, 15."
FYI, Last year's teen performers at MA and their placement/awards were:
Tuesday - NC OT, anthem; PA OT (1RU, Don Magness award), song
Wednesday - TX OT (T10, talent/evening prelims), anthem; MAOT Taylor Fitch, dance number
Thursday - MD OT (3RU, fitness prelim, academic award, scholarship), anthem; All teens, production number
Saturday - AL OT (non-finalist talent), anthem

Brianna Bostick ( Miss Massachusetts Outstanding Teen) was selected as one of the featured vocalists to sing along with Miss America's Outstanding Teen Jeannette in the Production Number that the State Outstanding Teen Contestants will be performing during the Thursday night Preliminary Show at the 2010 Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas later this month!
