The 2013 Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant announces judges for this year's competition. Each judge will evaluate the contestants from the preliminaries through the final night of competition, which will be held at the Linda Chapin Theater in
Orlando, FL on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 6pm.
Laura Kaeppeler became the 93rd woman to be named Miss America and the second from the state of Wisconsin. As Miss America 2012, Laura traveled as the face of The Miss America Organization, The National Goodwill Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospital and an advocate for Children's of Incarcerated Parents. An accomplished vocalist and talent award winner at Miss America, Laura graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music and an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Carthage College. She is currently President of her own non-profit organization, The Laura Kaeppeler Foundation and travels as a national spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Carthage College.
Entrepreneur and Health & Fitness Expert Gina Lombardi is host of Fit Nation on the Discovery Fit & Health network and author of the book, Deadline Fitness, which reveals her signature fitness and diet programs used with celebrity clients. In addition, she is a Contributing Editor for MSNBC.COM Celebrity Fit List as well as a column editor for Health Magazine. Gina also co-hosts the popular Miami-based Radio Show called The Weekend Workout. Gina has been a Media Spokesperson for Health Magazine and SHAPE magazine and is currently the Brand Ambassador for Kiwaii True Natural Spring Water from New Zealand.
Melinda Jay Bell is Sr. Vice President of the Wright Entertainment Group (WEG), a Music Management Company whose roster includes *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, Aaron Carter, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joe Jonas, Jonas Brothers, Melissa Gorga , Aubrey O'Day, Laurie Ann Gibson, Katelyn Rose, Ciara and AKON amongst others. Wright Entertainment Group is responsible for more than $250 million in album sales while developing the careers of several of the biggest names in the music industry. Music continues to be Melinda's first love and with her diverse background it has allowed her to create her own company Straight Up Entertainment Group, a sister company to WEG.
As president and CEO of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Myron Martin brings the world's most revered and celebrated entertainers to Las Vegas. Throughout his career, he has produced and presented a variety of esteemed productions including first-run touring attractions and internationally acclaimed music, theater and dance performances. A veteran judge of Miss America state and local pageants and two-time national Miss America Pageant judge, Martin holds a bachelor of music degree from the University of North Texas, and an MBA from Golden Gate University. Named Las Vegas' 2012 "Man of the Year" by Vegas Seven magazine, Martin is a widely respected community leader and champion for the arts.
Sergio Mejia is a young, energetic internationally recognized Choreographer and Director originally from Southern California.
Sergio has worked on several events around the world where he has Directed/Choreographed for Leann Rimes, Christina Aguilera, Walt Disney Domestic and International, Clear Channel, Xbox, Disney Channel, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, CBS, MTV, VH-1, NCAA, Universal Studios Japan and Celebrity Cruises just to name a few.
Most recently, Sergio is returning from Argentina where he has been a Creative Consultant and Choreographer for Disney Channels International hit TV show "Violetta". Sergio has also just finished Co-Directing/Choreographing the Violetta Live World-Tour.
Sharron Melton is the co-anchor of ABC13's Emmy® Award winning morning newscast. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, she has lived all over the country. Sharron has been nominated for an Emmy® Award and was presented with the Outstanding Newscast Award by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association. In January
of 2013, she was named One of the 50 most influential Women in the City of Houston, by Houston Women's Magazine. She is a former Miss New Mexico and holds a Master's degree in Television Communication from Eastern New Mexico University and a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and Journalism from Texas A&M University.
