You can go in there with a so so dress, so so modeling and still come out a winner!!! But if you have time to gussy up the dress, gussy up the modeling you will have a better chance at winner a bigger title. My dd is mentally disabled and she is so afraid of the pageant where all the names win ALL the time, we did sherry's pageant 2 years in a row and my dd has supremed both times.
