Date Posted: 4/09/07 21:57 Well we picked him up, poor little thing was completely off his trolley. General anesthetic is not nice :(. But we have been told he has spine problems. Basically the lower part of his spin, where the disks slip in the gaps are to long. They go to far into his spine, thus causing a lot off pain. So he has to have anti inflammatories. This means that his legs will go sometime into the future. There is an operation but it is risky, so they want to leave it as long as they can. It's major spinal surgery :(. The ironic thing is they want me to make sure a 7 and half year old dalmation has complete bed rest. Not a small task lol. But it's not life threatening although life changing we will get him through this. I'm trying to see if i can find a back brace for him, so it will control and help his movement. Vet suggested a cage (me thinks not) I understand the vet is thinking whats best, but caging my dog will terrify him, so it's a major no! Thank you for being here, i lost a dog a couple of years ago i couldn't bare to do it like this again. Please keep him in your healing thoughts remember us when you light a candle and thank you for your love and support I sound like a complete fluffy fool lol but i really mean it. Your all sparkly stars xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 5/09/07 13:29 Hi Earth Fire, Starski is so lucky to have a friend like you to care for him! And although the diagnosis is a challenge, I'm sure you will do the absolute best for him, to make him more comfortable. BB Willow x [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
