Hey up Sam (((cooling hugs))). Sage would have been my first choice... at least 2 cups a day to get the best results, morning and night (to make a change from sage tea you could try making a sage infused wine / tonic and sip a small glass in the evening). Do you find your headaches are less when you are using the sage?
Mint tea is cooling, and might help with the headaches too. Did you find the catnip and peppermint tea blend (Mintea) helped with the flushes? or were they not so bad back then? The mints are rich in antioxidants too :) even better, blend with Stinging Nettles too, rich in vitamins and minerals!

Red Clover contains particularly high levels of phytoestrogens and is said to 'trick' the body into thinking it's producing more oestrogen than it is. You could try red clover tea, very tasty blended with raspberry leaf, or blackcurrant leaf. Blackcurrant leaf would blend well with the sage too, and is said to help with breast tenderness.
Soy (and soy products) is also rich in phytoestrogens - other foods which are a good source of phytoestrogens include flaxseed, licorice, chick peas, pinto beans (many of the beans) and pomegranate mmmmmmmmmmm
Evening Primrose Oil is particularly important as it provides gamma linoleic acid, which the bdy needs to make oestrogen.

Geranium and Rose are hormone balancing oils which you could try incorporating into a bath, or a massage oil blend, or an oil you could dab onto your pulse points / sniff when you feel the need... and for their uplifting qualities try Bergamot and Neroli. Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine are both good anti-depressant oils but use in small quantities as they can cause a headache in larger doses, and seeing as you're prone to headaches the other oils might be best. I would thinkg Lavender would be good for you - good for soothing headaches as well as lifting and calming moods.

I hope some of this has made sense - and helps! - am feeling a bit blurry headed, busy with pyrography tonight so all smoked out lol.
x Blessings x
