As a society we rely too much on food which isn't from our region, on non-seasonal food (often I don't think people realise just how far there food has travelled) - society continues to want everything NOW (and exactly how/when/where they want it). Sadly this town is seriously lacking a decent fruit and veg shop - it's crazy, but it was easier to buy locally produced (and tasty) foods when we lived in Cardiff than it is here! It does at least have a local butcher shop but it looks like that will be closing soon. I agree that the seasons aren't as we 'expect' them to be... (we've got some snowdrops on there way up for a second time this year!!) but then, Nature moves on and we're still trying to get her to follow our timetable.
