] Date Posted: 16/07/07 15:18 Hello Anyone use dowsing at all and in what way? In my yoga group we did dowsing up the spine with a pendulum. Was a little concerned there was not advice about what "not to do" with the powerful tool - what are the cautions with this I should know about? I may talk to my yoga tutor next week but thought it may be something you guys know about. Thanks blessings melanie [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 16/07/07 15:49 Nowadays I use dowsing mainly for finding things (using a map and pendulum) - but there are many different methods and uses of dowsing... so it depends on why/how you were dowsing : Was the reason you were dowsing up and down the spine in Yoga to check for position / spinal alignment? or chakra problems? or other health issues? and (sorry for all the questions lol) was it used as merely a detecting tool rather than a correcting tool? (if it was chakra work, pendulum dowsing is often used to diagnose and then change/alter chakra imbalances). If the dowsing was to check for things rather than also altering/effecting energies then you should not worry too much (IMO) - in these instances it is not so much the use of the pendulum that could cause a problem but how you interpret the result and what you then do... if that made sense... ? Hope some of that made sense - look forward to chatting about dowsing more! :) Blessings [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 16/07/07 16:37 thats interesting, my friend is training to be a yoga instructor i will have to ask her if she is doing anything like this. I use crystal pendulum for finding things pretty much as well. I have a few different kinds, but i also have a lovely wooden one. in chakra healing like stated above its good for rebalancing and sorting out the different chakra points. sounds like an interesting class jade [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 16/07/07 20:29 I've tried dowsing with both pendulum and rods...and never had any success :( Maybe it's just me. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 16/07/07 23:54 How were you dowsing Wolfie? hmmm...I'll try and describe a way of dowsing for lost items : ok, next time you lose something at home start by drawing a map of your house (just basic outlines / rooms / walls etc), now take your pendulum in your preferred hand and concentrate on the object you've mislaid. Once you're ready, keeping thinking of the item and move the pendulum hand down the the map - you should find it starts swinging round and round at some point, or you may feel a magnetic pull or a tingling (or all of these lol), when it does, make a mark / draw a horizontal line across the map. Now move your pendulum across the map and when you get the same movement/sensation as before make a mark / draw a vertical line down the map. Where the two lines cross you should (hopefully) find the item :) Alternatively, get a friend to hide something and then try finding it - you don't even have to know what object they've hidden, you may even get an impression of what they've hidden as you're dowsing... I tried this method with the Dragons at Cryndir and nearly everyone was spot on, and all were at least in the right area! (Perhaps the trick is to not expect it to work.... at least then it's a wonderful surprise if/when it does lol!) I hope that description made sense... of course, there's lots of other methods of dowsing with the pendulum, and not forgetting the rods... were you using 'L' rods or the 'Y' rod? you'll also probably find different materials/woods/stones etc... respond better than others, and with the pendulum you could try different weight pendulums and different lengths of chain. (You might find it useful to start off with a light object - my first dowsing experience was with a small ring on a thread of long hair) Happy dowsing :) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 17/07/07 18:57 Hmmm...I've tried dowsing with a pendulum on chakra's, with a friends help and got nothing! The friend can do it no bother and was trying to teach/show me. I've also tried the 'L' rods outside where I know there is water. Again I had no reaction. But I shall ponder your wise words....and maybe give it another go. I just concluded it is one of those things I had no talent for. Thanks Whitewolf :) Wolfie. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 18/07/07 8:54 Wolfie, This may sound daft but don't try so hard (if you see what I mean) I can't use 'L' rods for ove nor money, I have a crystal and if I Am 'willing' for something to happen, it invariably won't. Blessings Paganwolf )0( [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 18/07/07 16:56 Thanks so much for this everyone. Is reassuring. I phoned the lady today and she it won't from part of our regular yoga class. The lady that did the crystal work with us was one of her trainee yoga instructors. She moved the crystal up our spines and said there was to be a healthy swing at each point. I have some knee pain due to arthritis and the crystal did not move at all when put near my knee. I must admit I am a bit in the dark about what all this means and she wasn't too clear I am not entirely sure what is happening and why the crystal swings I imagine I have blocks. I think I need a good book! so much to learn! Blessings mel [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 18/07/07 18:38 Thanks Paganwolf :) That thought crossed my mind as I was typing my second post in this thread. I may try this weekend if I can get some free time. Wolfie. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
