Date Posted: 5/08/07 22:34 i know i had dreams before this but these are the strongest ones i can remember. they were recurring too. the first one is there was always something chasing me up a deserted almost apocalyptical (is there such a word?) street. I get to a house and dial a telephone but i keep mis-dialing and the 'thing' is getting closer and...i woke up! (bit scary - think i was about 5.) The other dreams were beautiful, always flying, sometimes superman like, or swimming in the air, or hovering over trees and ending up in the most beautiful place that had my heart longing for it when i woke. it was like sweeping hills and the odd white marble statue here and there. Date Posted: 7/08/07 0:04 I'm going to have to choose one of my first strongest recurring dreams, I know I was very young when I had the first one in this theme, but I couldn't say exactly what age... anyway... the setting is rural, edge of a forest, I am with a group and we are running from 'the bad guys' who have not yet reached the forest. Ensuring the rest of the group have all reached safety of the forest I stay at the edge and in an attempt to hold the 'bad guys' off, I have my bow and arrow (think Robin Hood look and time - don't laugh! lol) it is going well but I always get shot in my right leg, middle of my shin. Talking of dreams (and aren't the flying ones just the best raewytch!!) I'm curious how you all 'see' in your dreams. Is it : always as in your waking life, so from your 'physical' eyes? OR slightly elevated / to the side / not 'in' you but near you? OR from any viewpoint you desire, so you can be watching 'yourself' in all of it, like a film... if that made sense... OR ... ? :) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 7/08/07 17:59 Loving reading this thread, is wonderful you can recall your first dreams. I cannot isolate the dream or dreams that were my first. As for seeing in my dreams. Well in my waking life I don't feel I 'see' (or experience) from my physical eyes always and this sensation appears to be far more common in dreams. For me (as in waking life) I often find a dissolving of myself and something outside of me. I don't feel an isolated being experiencing.... I dream of amimals a lot and I might see a cayote running but then also feel inside the coyote in the moonlight, senses alert, smells heightened but at the same time see the wolf running away too. As if I am the violin and the music combined....a sense of a beautiful wonderful unity...experiencing nature from all perspectives. Very interesting. In nightmares I try to wake myself up as that can be very uncomfortable. Words can never explain what I mean....a deeply mysterious worldless experience. Beautiful. namaste zenwind [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 7/08/07 23:13 ok i got a bit of a waffle coming on here lol flying dreams are definitely so moving, you reminded me of something I thought id share it, hope thats ok. I know its a little off topic, but i remember being young and dreaming of flying all the time, I dont remember the dreams properly because they were daydreams as well as night dreams, and eventually i became a bit obsessed even in waking hours of wanting to fly, i used to watch peter pan all the time, I even got a tattoo of tinkerbel when i was older to remind me of this, ok sounds weird lol but i was only about 6. I remember coming downstairs one night heart broken and not being able to fly and crying and being told to go back to bed and felt no one understood me. I just didnt belong in my body. when harry was about 4 I took him to a fairy fair and he made wings, he spent ages running around wanting to fly, desperately flapping his arms and jumpint, and was so heartbroken that his newly made sparkly wings wouldnt make him fly. It really made me choke up when i heard him say that. so we sat down at night time on a special "flying" carpet i made him, put candles on, and i took him on a eyes closed flying meditation, and we pretended in our mind to see all these things we were flying over, with our arms spread out, floating on the breeze, diving down to the sea, flying around mountains. I have to say....that was one of the moments of bonding i remember and love. so yeah... dreams and flying... can be so special. so back on the topic you mentioned whitewolf, i spent quite a while laerning to remember dreams, and have lucid dreaming, setting alarms and waking every few hours to start with and writing things down, and now its just quite normal to have a dream and remember it all, i am usually watching mine, i have full vision and feeling, i am not always "me" sometimes im a feeling, if that makes sense. Some times i am viewing others play out a role, usually these roles are about me however, and the people are different aspects of me. Apparently its quite normal to dream about others but actually its yourself your dreaming about, like ifyou dream of a house the house is actually yourself too, and each room and window and corridor has a meaning, its quite freudian i think in the way I learn about dreams and interpretation, he wrote some great stuff on the shaddow self so did jung, anyway erm i think i have written quite a lot now so i shall shush lol blessings.
