With all this lovely weather we've been having the gardens around here are flourishing... so... what are you growing this year?

What with the garden we work at and our own little space, we've got a range of veg and herbs on the go - lots of pots of seedlings all over the place lol, and down in the garden the veg patches are full of peas, beans (broad and runner), carrots, leeks, spring onions, shallots, onions, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes - kestrel and king edwards - 3 types of tomatoes, lettuce, raspberries, wild strawberries, gooseberries, the rhubarb has now gone to seed but the freezer is full of it lol... on the herb front we have various sages (including a blackcurrant sage which smells divine!) lavenders, rosemary, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lemongrass, lemon geranium, various mints, coriander, dill, chives, various basils, borage, thyme, marjoram, oregano, tarragon, arnica, horsetail... erm.... lots and lots of lovely plants, so many I forget lol!! And the range of flowers in the garden we work at is amazing!
Needless to say a gardening wolf is a happy wolf lol :)

So... what's in your patch?

What's in my garden? Mostly WEEDS! LOL I didn't put in an official garden this year. Too much chaos in my life to care for it. I do have Strawberris, mint, giant sunflowers and I planted fennel.

we are keeping our garden to a minimum this year as we are going away for 3 weeks in july/august and our neighbours are having enough to worry about what with looking after a mini farms worth of pets!!
we do have a wild cornfield flower mixture just coming up in our newly 'made' bit of refurbished garden which we have dug around one of our ponds for nan and grandad and all their ornaments are there too... we hope next year to add some heathers and small minature type lillies and stuff that they liked, there's just no point this year in doing it then leaving it all to over grow and die off!!
otherwise, a lot of our back garden is down to grass with various ornamental willows (salix) one for each of the cats and a 'weeping' pussy willow for sam the spaniel!! (hence s.s)
we have given up on the idea of veggy garden as we have a friend who shares their home grown with us and we just don't have enough hours in the day to maintain!!
i do however have a small gooseberry bush and a rhubarb patch!!
love sam

I gave up growing veggie's in my garden some years ago as I just don't have time to do it as I'd like. If there is one thing that annoy's me it's weeds among the veg!
I cheat though as I take my 'cut' from the estate garden where I work. It's only small and so all I've put into it this year is pea's, potatoes-two types, spinnach, dwarf french beans and lettuce, plus some dill and basil.

I keep meaning to grow skirret again but the seed is always sold out. Any one here grown it? And has anyone grown Aconite (Wolfsbane)? I have some seeds in the fridge at the moment (they need time at low temp. Never had any succes with it though.
In my own garden I have bamboo, birch and rhododendron seeds coming up, as well as young plants of the same growing.

Think I may need a bigger garden soon.....I wonder if the farmer would miss that big field behind my house.....??

wow whitewolf your growing a lot!!! I have just started a veg patch in the garden now. It used to have a shed on it and its clay soil so ive blisters like mad from digging and trying to get the ground broken up. But ive managed so far to grow radishes, lettuce, onions, carrots, and i have 2 butternuts in and im experimenting with a melon which is not too bad and i got a cucumber with 4 fruit on it im so chuffed lol. The rest of the garden has.... a little fairy area with fairies and crystals, sunflowers and wild flowers. A meditation area with lots of wild flowers and kuan yin (obv i didnt grow her hehe) I also growing beans, and tomatoes and i started off a pepper but mums taken that now and put it in the greenhouse as i dont have one.
so phew yeah its been great. and yesterday my brother got me a fire pit. ohh i love gardening. Some guy passed my house the other day well actually he is the guy that cleans out the wheelie bins. and i ws gardening outside, he said that gardening is a form of meditation. Id not thought of it like that before. But i suppose he is right. I feel really good, almost like i do after doing yoga or something.
wow this was a long answer wasnt it. !

hope your all well. im still keeping up to date with all the gardening tips lol
