I remember last year, a group I am actively involved with invited a group of teenage girls from Belaruse, Chernobyl who had come to the UK for a set amount of time to receive dental and eye care as well as breath in our fresh air. Its sad that the events in Chernobyl all those years ago are still affecting so many lives, a large number of whom werent even born then. Anyway, some struggled more than others but standing on the slipway watching their beaming smiles and listening to their shrieks of delight really brought home to me how very lucky I am and particularly, as I have a teenage daughter also, how very priviliged a life she has. I am pleased to say that it was a sunny day and I hid my tears behind my sunglasses. We take so much for granted sometimes and these kind of reality checks are just what we need sometimes. Bless you Heather for your wonderful patience and skills in not only supporting these children but also for wanting to help make their lives a little better. You truly are a very special person and I am honoured to call you my friend. Blessings to you and everyone here in the Garden.
