Part of my degree is finding the balance between conserving and utilizing the space. It is all a question of sustainability, not farming too intensley and trying to use natures resources wiseley etc etc. But, if growing food in a small village, there will sureley be some arable agricultural land there, if not then try to live off the land etc etc. And yes, I am very sensible now! It's too much hard work and stress, forced to grow up. Jade, you can be quiet! You cost me £4 in credit! [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 28/02/07 16:38 SOR, Ash, I assume you've heard of Thomas Malthus? he theorised that with a finite amount of land, only a finite amount of food can be grown therefore only a finite populace can be sustained. depressing i know but it makes one wonder how he would view our reluctance to eat seasonal produce preferring to fly food from around the world with the environmental cost therein. I really want the village! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
