I went to a medieval banquet years ago and as I had just got engaged, we were asked to be Lord & Lady for the evening - got to wear posh crown and got fed & watered first (yey!). I found the mead to be quite sweet and little sickly (almost syrupy) but if you like sweet and syrupy then give it a go! Im gonna make my own sloe gin this year - loads of my buddies do and its always so delicious and apparently very easy. I like easy!
