If you are like me and more into celtic magick, then the type of wood works for different energies. If however you are someone who is concerned with planets, you'd find a planet day and collect a wand on that day etc There are alot of different ways, make one up, do what feels right to you! Ditto that Ash! :) At the end of the day, it's just a tool - primarily used for directing energy, you might view it as an extension of your index finger. You don't need the wand to direct the energy, but if you want one then go for it! As for length - it's your tool, I believe the length should be one which is comfortable for you. I've used short and long ones, it all depends on the 'task' in hand :) As for material - willow, how lovely!! My first wand (and still my 'special one') was willow - but again, any material you feel suitable is good. I do prefer the naturally fallen wood approach, but if a tree was in need of a little pruning and I felt it was appropriate to use the trimmings I would. Following your instincts is (imo) the best approach. I'll stop waffling now, but I enjoyed the distraction :) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
