] Date Posted: 22/01/07 13:10 Is it just me or are we going through a downer? Sweetsong being so down she thought it best to leave, (are you staying hun?), Awen just upping and going without any indication? Think we should get some candles lit, chakras aligned or whatever each of us does according to our beliefs. We're in need of a lift. Incidently scientists reckon the 22nd January is the most depressing day of the year. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 22/01/07 18:04 As Whitewolf says this can be a sort of 'in between' time for many. I to heard this is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year...hogwash as far as I'm concerned! The sun has been shining all day, I went for a lovely walk, saw deer and found lots of plants sprouting in the woods. The days are what you make them. Sorry to hear Awen is leaving but I'm pleased Heather and Sweetsong are going to be around still. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 22/01/07 19:11 hmm i heard that this was the worst day of the year, but then i also read that the 24th jan was too. so hey wot to they know ey!!! not sure about the goings on wiv the leaving and coming back in here, its pretty open door as far as i can see so im in and out whenever its nice like that , friendly and keeps the energy moving. this january had a magnificent wolf moon though, did anyone see those huge halos around the moon, i did write a big blog on it on my yahoo thing, the wolf moon being to do with all new starts, and being in the middle of yule and imbolc when the lord is rising again, and the sun is striving to be born. SO the moon having a corona around it i thought all those things well they just all interlinked so much. It was strong though, i dont know anyone that hasnt felt the depressing pull of emotions recently. Me included. Ive been on a positive power rant though, learning about NLP and other such things, Positive Mental Attitude, so im trying to keep the flow of positivity around me. oh and i just feng shui'd the living room, it was harder than i thought, will do rest of house soon. feels ok though, and the positivity really does work. its amazing. hard work though. anyway im sending out lots of positive love and hugs to you all. love jade [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 22/01/07 20:01 Well, it certainly started beautifully with all that snow and ended glowingly with a wonderful crescent moon. But I did leave my lunch on the kitchen counter when it would have been lots better if it had hopped in my bag and been taken to work. Ho hum x [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 22/01/07 20:38 Lovely afternoon sun today and I went photographing lichens on my lunch break. The trees were profoundly beautiful. And been reading about the awe inspiring strangler figs in an amazing rainforest book of a friend - incredible! Big hugs, smiles and an extra dollop of support all around. /\ zw [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 22/01/07 22:19 Well now, just popped in for a quick (and all too infrequent) look round, and find you all in the depths of misery! Now I'm a pretty grouchy old grump (my work colleagues have long since learned the warning signs and know when to leave me well alone) but I haven't been too bad lately. Perhaps you've all soaked up the grumpiness on my behalf? I think I'll set fire to a cinnamon scented candle in work tomorrow - and laugh at the Health & Safety officer as he complains about the fire hazard. I always find that a cheering passtime. Not as cheering as if I incinerated the place, though! Ellinas. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 23/01/07 20:29 Am I the only one who feels amazingly postive and happy right now? I'm loving the spring and the snowdrops, the snow and the clean fresh air! I have this feeling inside that makes me run around like an idiot, dance around like a prat in the woods whilst laughing (and scaring my friends) and climb trees, or to just sit and be thankful and take in the new life that is just springing forth. This is a brilliant time, just let the heartbeat of the earth vibrate through you and you'll know what I mean! Snow! yaaaay [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 24/01/07 17:46 I feel it too Ash,the air is so clean and fresh......bloody cold though. Hi Awen, i work with special needs children and i really do love my job. Im glad you did'nt go, i used to feel the same way you do and i think what has changed me is a mixture of hitting my 40s and the people here in the garden. One thing i do know now is that not everyone thinks the same way i do, so when im having a pity me, slag myself day i know its just me thinking the way i do about myself.....does that make sense or am i waffling? I am my own worse enemy sometimes. I always ask myself if the person im worried about matters to me then their opinion matters, if they dont then ***k it he he he. Anyway you matter so im sending you a big hug.....and to everyone else in the garden too. Hugs and bright blessings, love heather.xxxxx [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 24/01/07 19:57 Oh Heather, Me too..I work with special needs kids too! They are my world really... I love them all to bits...isn't it rewarding when one of them takes notice of you..... I've been working with one boy for a while and at first he would answer any questions you asked him but wouldn't volunteer anything himself..anyway after a few weeks he started to really open up..at the end of last term when he was leaving he just suddenly shouted 'I'll miss you' to me.. I nearly cried! They have taught me so much more than I could ever teach them......x [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 24/01/07 20:18 That happened to me today as i was leaving to go home, one of the girls who never looks at me shouted bye bye and waved at me as i was going out the door....i felt really special. My contract finishes next wednesday with this school, i have been there since Oct(im on the supply list and was just filling in for someone who was off sick). I'm going to be so sad to leave, but i must try different support bases in other schools, its so hard not to get attached to these kids though. I cant imagine doing anything else now, i just wish i had done this work earlier but then again i have really enjoyed bringing up my own children(22, 19, 12) or should i say i was lucky enough to be able to stay at home with them. It really is a great job, even though you sometimes get a battering...i got a fat lip from a smack today but it was worth it because she asked me for a drink from her pecs book, i think she was frustrated trying to ask for the water and it getting a bit confusing (still learning sign-along and pecs book). Keep me posted on how you get on, i would love to hear more. BIG HUGS AND BRIGHT BLESSINGS, LOVE HEATHER.XXXXX [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 24/01/07 20:35 I used to do your job, in a special needs school, other schools are always after people..only the 'good' ones tend to stay the course! I now work for a college, where the special needs students visit with their own teaching staff. They sample various things that we do..I also work with the 'AG boys'..Students studying Agriculture...They tend to have had a pretty hard time at school for various reasons..with them its all about trying to restore confidence( and stopping them fighting each other!!!!)Both groups are teenagers. When i worked at the special needs school I worked with just the same sort of students as you..severe learning disabilities, and PMLD...I've been bitten, spat at and had pooh wiped in my hair...I loved them!!! let me know what happens..... like me, you won't ever want to do another job..I'm hooked..and slightly mad now!
