Hi all,

here the results of a new research, i cannot give you the link to this research because it is not published yet. (I got it through work, it will be published in December)

Anyway, there is a significant correlation between people with eating disorders and bone problems (osteoperose, reumatic illnesses and stuff like that) of course this was to be expected but now it is proven.

The reason for this is that people with an ED suffer from a lack of calcium: this for two reasons:

1) because people with an ED often leave meat and milk products out of their diet and get a direct calcium deficit
2)because people with an ED leave fat out of their diets. You need fat to take in vitamine D and you need vitamine D to take in calcium.
Basically when this is the case a simple calcium supplement is not going to do it. Without the vitamine D you are simply not going to take it in, your body will not absorb it. And in order to have the vitamine D in your system you need fat or else the vitamine D will not be absorbed in your body. (this is not new, but i figured i just mention it because a lot of people dont know this)

Anyway, I just wanted to let everybody know how important it is not to leave fat completely out of your diet.

If anybody has any questions let me know and I will explain

Choco
