I forgot to mention, once I purchased my lovely new brown "wedge" shoes, I left the store, filled with pride. I said to my friends the SCHNEIDERS that I was "going to dress acceptably European if it killed me." Bear in mind I said this with some pride as , if I had been home I would have worn the blue sandals with everything, Dr. Miriam said to me :....but those were HushPuppies you bought. We have them in America; they aren't Eurpoean." Now I am sure you are feeling the same dejection that I felt.
