National Forestry, spends an afternoon at WALB-TV Author: Anonymous [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 09:42:19 12/22/05 Thu Laura, who wants to be the next Katie Couric, "shadowed" Ben Roberts of WALB-TV on Tuesday. Ben Roberts & Kathryn Murcheson (news anchors) took her under their wing and showed her what it takes to get ready for a news broadcast. She sat in staff meetings, researched stories on the Associated Press website and sat in on the 5:00, 5:30 & 6:00 broadcasts(but off camera). She was even able to monitor by headset what goes on behind-the-scenes through the eyes & ears of the director & producers. It was a wonderful experience. Laura plans on attending the University of Georgia majoring in Broadcast Journalism. HANG IN THERE LAURA...WE'LL BE WATCHING YOU ON TV BEFORE LONG!!!
