Subject: Officer & Friend Leaves Council

On Friday the 7th April 2006, I recieved a call from an officer in North Queensland explaining he is leaving the Council and moving on.

Trevor Nash worked for the Burdekin Shire Council in North Queensland as a Senior Animal Management/Local Laws Officer.

I have known Trevor for the past 5 years, and you will not meet a nicer gentleman and competetent officer.

Over the last 6 months, Trevor applied for a reclassification for his position.

Like all officers he was required to undertake duties that really where outside of his position description.

Trevor was not one to complain, each and everyday he went out and performed his duties to the best of his abilities, but again when it came to remuneration he hit a brick wall.

How often does this happen, and what can be done to prevent this from happening again. Another good man decides to leaves the industry.

For those who knew Trevor he was a great man and a close friend and would help anyone when ever it was required.

So Trevor from me to you,I wish you every endeavour in your new position and all the best to you and Pam and your family. I know, I will miss you at the Annual Conferences each year.
