Subject: AmStaff's

Can I get some feed back from ACO's on the general stance on the 'breeds' AmStaff's, aka American Staffordshire Terrier?
Are they synonymous with the Pitbull?
It has been an argument put forward by some dog owners here (in Hervey Bay)that their dogs are AmStaff's etc when it is believed otherwise by Officers in the field.
Has anyone had a case like this go to court? Outcome and so forth?
Any info would help.
