Subject: Meeting new friends...

I really wish that I was able to attend this years fan fest. It really sounds like a lot of fun and I would truly love to meet everyone.

I do a lot of genealogy research and I am on a couple of surname lists. Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to meet a "cousin." She is from Texas, but is in the process of moving to Lousiana. After she and her husband sold their house in Houston and put all of their belongings in storage in Monroe, LA, they hit the road! Well, last week, they ended up in Pennsylvania where our mutul ancestors lived. Our 5th great grandfather was a soldier iinn the American Revolution and he is buried about 10 minutes from my house. It is quite a legacy we both have.

It was so wonderful to meet her and her husband. I had the opportunity to take Lona and her husband around to different places near our house. I even took her to the cabin that was built by our shared grandfather. It's over 200 years old and still standing.

The point I am trying to make is that in this day when you can't trust too many people you meet online, you guys have proven that it is possible. I just want to let everyone on the HB to know that I am so fortunate to have you all to talk to. Everyone here is very caring and supportive. It is possible to make friends and find long distance relatives and develop friendships that will last for many many years.

So, everyone going to fan fest, have fun and stay safe. Also, have a couple of margaritas for me. I'll be working hard making sure that new babies come into this world as safe as can be.
