Please get hold of your Senators and Representatives. Please tell them to support Senator Rand Paul's bill (it is not yet up on the Thomas website). Also, please go to https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact and let President Trump know how disappointed you are that he has chosen to support the Paul Ryan "Obamacare-Lite" bill instead of the Rand Paul solution.

The Republican leadership in Congress today rolled out their replacement for Obamacare. This legislation goes in the wrong direction from what President Trump promised on the campaign trail. The main reason healthcare costs are skyrocketing as quality of service diminishes is GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT. To correct the problem demands that government must get out of the way. The new Republican bill does not do that. it continues the myth that government must control how and where Americans buy their healthcare plans while regulating the options.
Senator Ran Paul is on the correct path in insisting on a competitive free market approach, getting government out of the process. My recent article, posted below, clearly states how this can be done. We must not let Speaker Paul Ryan and those entrenched Washington establishment Republicans fail us again through tough talk yet wrong policy!
Please contact your Senators and Representatives in Congress and demand they join Senator Rand Paul’s efforts to truly fix the U.S. health care system by getting government out of the way and let the free market system handle the needs of the people, as I have described below. The nation’s health, physically and financially, depends on it. Tom DeWeese
As the Republicans in Congress struggle to present a workable replacement to Obamacare, the solution is staring them in the face. It’s called free enterprise.
The only reason we need massive insurance programs today is because of government meddling in healthcare. It started with Medicare in which government dictated percentages it would pay for services. Insurance companies followed suit. Therefore, forcing doctors and hospitals to raise prices to make more money from those established percentages. To prove that fact, simply go to a hospital as an uninsured patient and observe how much they deduct from your final bill. Insurance would have had to pay the higher price.
Then, with the intrusion of government came the inevitable paperwork. Lots of it. Today, under the Affordable Care Act doctors and hospitals need full time staffs just to fill out the paperwork. That costs money. Eliminate it.
Now there are rules and regulations on who must be treated and what procedures must be used. Of course, like all things government, these rules and regulations haven’t been written by doctors, but by bureaucrats serving various special interests who stand to gain financially. Eliminate them.
What’s the solution? It’s simple. Get government completely out of the healthcare industry where they don’t belong. Don’t try to write whole new policies. Let the insurance companies create policies to fit the market’s needs. Let them advertise for customers. Let them fight it out among themselves in the market place and let the customers choose which company has the policy that fits their needs.
Repeal Obamacare with no government replacement and watch how fast and creatively these insurance companies rush to the solution, just like every industry, including car insurance.
Oh, but wait. You can’t do that, say the liberals with great compassion. We have these poor who can’t afford to pay for insurance. Well, there is a solution and it’s full of compassion.
In the America of the past we had a great legacy of charity. Americans are a generous people. We used to have community funds, service clubs and churches dedicated to helping the less fortunate. What happened to them? Nearly everyone has been replaced by a government program. Instead of people helping voluntarily according to their ability and interest, they have been ruthlessly and unrelentingly taxed to the point of suffocation. As a result, they have stopped giving to charities which subsequently have disappeared.
Yet, there is still a fantastic example of human generosity, concern and caring that exists today, even in the socialist world of control. Organizations like St. Jude Children Center and the Shriners Hospital collect money from private donations and provide services free to families in need. Imagine how such programs would soar and fulfill the needs of every American if we were all simply allowed to make our own choices with our own money.
Congress, just repeal Obamacare and let the free market work for everyone. Now, let’s get on with draining the rest of the swamp!

RE: Health care legislation
The BIG issue right now is the Health Care legislation being sold as better than ObamaCare, (Hillary Care/RyanCare/RINO LITE).
I guess at my age I can recall how much less expensive health CARE was in my younger days. This was BEFORE all the insurance industry entered the general population.
In 1957 when I had my first child the entire bill - doctor and three days and nights in the hospital was a grand total of $300.00 - that included both Dr. & Hospital. We had no insurance so neither the Doctor or the hospital had to maintain STAFF (payroll and taxes) to accommodate all the paperwork required when dealing with *insurance* .
My recent trip to the E.R. late in the evening, for that extreme belly pain I had endured for 2.5 days and nights cemented my thoughts on this issue. Other than the scan and blood/Urine draws they did NOTHING other than to tell me they were STUMPED - they had NO CLUE what the problem was and they released me, late in the evening, - handing me a few sheets of paper with names of local MD's that accepted Medicare. For that fantastic HEALTH CARE they billed a few dollars short of $7,000.00. Oh and I am still getting bills from the labs that performed the tests on the scan - the blood draw and the Urine test. Medicare pays the majority of that, I pay the rest but the point is that the price charged did NOTHING to even determine what was the problems.... but the *Industry* made money.
I wonder how many of you ever consider the increases in costs for medical care when an insurance company and the staff in doctors and hospital offices has to increase to handle all that paperwork. Not one cent of that cost provides any medical care.... but it sure makes MONEY for the insurance and medical organizations.
Another thing insurance has brought forth is LAZINESS - folks are too lazy to take care of things at home like was the habit in my (and still in my home) younger days. A great deal of those E.R. and Urgent care visits could easily be taken care of at home - costing nothing.
Another side effect of this is that the COST of being a Doctor now with all the insurance is that many are leaving the field. They simply can't afford to pay the associated costs to stay in practice. Those doctors who really care find they have to run from one patient to another as fast as they can in order to make somewhere near the income they used to make... resulting in the patients getting less than proper attention from the doctors. Now it is how fast can the doctor do a FAST diagnosis - write out a money making prescription (kick backs) and advise the patient to come back in a week or so.
Then there is the problem of those chemical prescriptions that have a long list of SIDE EFFECTS which require another visit and another prescription - with another long list of SIDE EFFECTS.
The big push in all this **HEALTH CARE BS** is MONEY. It has little to no relationship to aiding in WELLNESS of the patient. It is MONEY for Big PHARMA - the AMA - and the INSURANCE INDUSTRY. The deductibles are so high that those we are told it is to help have Health coverage that few folks can afford to go to see a doctor. However, those ILLEGALS get all kinds of FREE care (they simply don't pay for any of it).
We need to get rid of all those items that have increased the cost of FAKE HEALTH CARE and return to being responsible and return to legitimate medical coverage without the institutions that do nothing but INCREASE COSTS - providing NO actual care.
I have said hundreds of time that we need to learn how to provide the care at home other than those real situations that need to be taken care of by a REAL doctor (ie; broken bones , etc.). If you are tired of the HIGH costs then learn how to PREVENT as well as how to care for the common health issues that mothers used to take care of years ago.
Recent news has come out about the increase in colon cancer among the millenniums. This is due to the ROTTEN DIETS they consume. Fast Food (JUNK FOOD) is killing - but it IS FAST!!!!
Learn about and then change how and what you eat and drink. pH balance diets producing an alkaline system - viruses and bacteria can't survive in an Alkaline system. Eat more raw foods (fruits and veggies). Stay away from those frozen meals that are fills with acidic and fat forming ingredients. Do a search for pH balance - and for Alkaline foods. Since I learned and made the change some years back I have not had one illness related to my diet. My problems lean to the bone and muscles and even there I have found alternative ways to work on healing or at least relieving the pain. I was born with a broken back which then led to the problems of today.
So as you listen to the POLITICAL SPIEL of the need for Health care ask your self WHAT has created these higher and higher expense for medial care? Get rid of the CAUSES --- INSURANCE - Big PHARMA - AMA. If the TRUE costs those groups were to be made known it would change the picture being presented to make sure those groups keep making huge profits.
When government MANDATES any of this stuff - be very suspicious of what the underlying push is really about. ALWAYS EXAMINE THE ROOT OF THINGS.
Politicians should NOT be offered a separate class of health coverage than that that is offered to ALL Americans.
Remove ALL mandates for anyone to carry health care insurance. If an insurance carrier is going to offer coverage in one state then they must offer the same coverage in ALL states. Eliminate those state lines now in use.
Eliminate those excessive charges so common in Medicare cases. My recent experience tells me that the FAILURE to audit those charges and shine the TRUTH on these charges is a big part of the problem. I’ve been told it is because it is cheaper to pay than to dispute those charges. That is the open door for false billings.
You need to talk to a single mom who has raised several kids on a limited income and done so successfully. Those moms know how to watch the dollars and cents.
