I find it so unbelievable that this keeps going on. Did anyone do a SWEEP of the White House - the rooms these other meetings take place in to find hidden listening devices left over (planted) by the Obama bunch? If not - why not? As to all who participate in these meetings - how hard is it to confiscate all phones or other listening devices from them before they meet? Or at least activate those sound waves that disrupt any recordings??? Putting that into operation would stop the LEAKS right away - or at best it would expose the LEAKER. There has been entirely too many LEAKS for this to be too hard to stop. I think it is a well planned LEAKAGE with no real intent to stop it. Putting a finger in the dike to keep out the water in Holland may have worked for that little boy most all of us have read about in our childhood - here we have a hole the circumference of the Columbia River. My understanding is that there is technology that can kill all such listening devices in an area - why isn't this being done???
I wouldn't trust any of the four named in this with my weekly garbage sack. The GOP is as much in need of deep cleaning as the DIMS. The number of TRUE conservatives in the GOP could fit into a small bus. And that fact is due to what the voters cast their ballots for - all to enable them to complain for the following four years. Few voters actually take the time to study the Constitution and then to compare how that candidate compares to what is CONSTITUTIONAL. Term Limits (as much as I hate that term) needs to take place to keep those LIFERS out of office (McCain, Graham - and their ilk). Originally citizens served one term or maybe two and then returned HOME to work their farm or business and another citizen would step forward. Now they forget to return HOME. For some of them returning Home means becoming a Lobbyist so they can still influence all legislation to make their thirty pieces of silver from. All - ABSOLUTELY ALL - Lobbyists should be eliminated and their existence be outlawed. The only legitimate *lobbyist* should be the citizen in that politicians district. The only ones who should be able to contribute funds to any politician should be the REGISTERED VOTER of that politicians district. - No more PACS, Bundling or out of district funds.
Make these corrupt politicians truly accountable to those they are elected to represent. That would bring down the costs of running for office and it would remove the outside (and foreign) influence.

House GOP Open Internal Review Over Leaked Audio of Private Meeting
Posted at 6:00 pm on May 26, 2017 by Andrea Ruth

Republican leadership in the House have launched an internal review to find out who recorded audio of a private meeting between four GOP leaders Speaker Paul Ryan (Wisc.), Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.), and Majority Whip Steve Scalise (La.) and a handful of top aides. The recording of the June 2016 meeting was subsequently leaked to The Washington Post.

Among comments made during the meeting that’s been an uncomfortable situation for Republicans are discussions of Russia and the Ukraine.

“Russia is trying to turn Ukraine against itself,” Ryan told the group.

“Yes,” McMorris Rodgers agreed, “and that’s … it’s sophisticated and it’s, uh”

“Maniacal,” Ryan chimed in.

As well as a “bad attempt at a” joke about then-candidate Donald Trump from McCarthy,

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” Mr. McCarthy said. Representative Dana Rohrabacher, Republican of California, is known as Mr. Putin’s most vigorous defender in Congress.

A spokesman for Ryan denied the report that the exchange had happened until made aware that The Post had a recording.

The person leadership is apparently most suspicious of is former CIA officer and then-policy aide to McMorris Rodgers, Evan McMullin. In the months after the meeting, McMullin launched an independent bid for president. Since the election he has been an outspoken, reflexive anti-Trump figure, and has said he’s considering running for Utah’s Sen. Orrin Hatch or Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s seats. The McMullin camp has reiterated the fact that there is no proof that McMullin was the one who recorded or leaked the audio.

Regardless, whether McMullin made the recording or not, GOP leadership reportedly consider him a likely suspect.
