Subject: That's GREAT news, Janelle--but how is that possible? I thought all the top contenders had to sign that 19 Entertainment had first contract rights or they couldn't participate. I hope he isn't signed with them--that would be fantastic! Chris is actually probably better off career-wise than if he'd won. But, I'm still shocked. What an incredible voice. I think he'll be around for a long time.

However, from what I've read/heard reported (and again, nothing official), I don't think any of the idols can sign until a few months after the finale. And then they can't release albums around the Idol's release. I doubt, but I wonder, if anybody would be interested in his original band. From the clips I've heard, their music isn't that bad.
