  After eight years of college I finally took my last exam and handed in the last paper today. I can't tell you all how great it feels!
  
  So this Sunday I get to march to Pomp & Circumstance and my family gets to sit through a four hour ceremony. My school is lame for having it on Mother's Day, but hey at least my mom gets to go out for a great meal to celebrate graduation/Mother's Day.
  
  So those are my plans, what are you all doing?

  Well, I have some news that I had to share. My boyfriend, Chris, proposed Sunday at the Santa Monica park in California. We're out here visiting my dad and Santa Monica has always been my favorite part of L.A. It's just absolutely gorgeous. I talk about it all the time and he decided to ask me there so it would be really memorable. He had already asked my dad's permission and told him his plan. So, I noticed that my dad was taking all of these pictures and I couldn't figure out why. But, then as we were walking, Chris tells me he has a question to ask me and then gets down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so sweet and so perfect. And my dad took pictures of it all. It's so awesome that we have pictures to document the proposal. We aren't making plans anytime soon...he's actually probably gonna have to go to Iraq for quite a while, so we will be waiting until those plans all shake out before we start making wedding plans. But, I just had to let you all know that I am now engaged! The good news just keeps coming in 2007! :)

  • Gosh, that man just has no common decency. I do feel for those investors (especially vets) who put all of their savings into his "deal". Probably most of those people wouldn't know him by name, but it is very important to research before you invest in anything. If he isn't found by the FBI, he'll eventually be found by someone who is REALLY MAD and his outcome could possibly be worse than being caught by the FBI.   I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter. For those who celebrate this holiday, do you have any special Easter traditions at your house?
  
  I have to admit, I miss the days when the kids were little and we (ahem, I mean E.B. of course!) used to hide rhyming clues all over the house to lead them to their Easter baskets. The Easter basket was usually hidden somewhere near where they started with the first clue, but the search would take them scurrying all over the house before that elusive basket of goodies was discovered. Good memories. :-)

  • Happy Easter! Easter Saturday we celebrate with my dad's extended family and get Easter baskets blessed at church. On Sunday, we used to have an Easter egg/candy hunt in the morning, go to church, and then we celebrate with my mom's extended family (where there's a hunt for chocolate Easter bunnies). Once my brother and I hid my uncle's bunny in a heating duct, and it took him FOREVER to find it! As we grow older, it's also becoming more of a time for sibilings/cousins to come home from college and for me to see friends that have moved away because of careers. It's one BUSY weekend.   • I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! My family tradition is to go to church and then we all (my mom's entire side of the family) head to my Aunt's house for pot luck dinner and an egg hunt for the kids. Along with pictures in our Sunday finest. :) It's always so much FUN! I love getting together with that side of my family. We're all a cooking family, so the food is just AWESOME. All of it! :) My boyfriend and I didn't make it to church because we had to rush to the animal emergency hospital for his doggie, but we made it to the get together.   Hi Lynn and the rest of the Dax board. I was talking to Dax last night at Jenn McGill's engagement party and he mentioned the files. I said I haven't been here in ages and thought I would pop by today. I have been so self involved that I haven't had time to stop in.
  Dax introduced us to Melissa and I am so excited. She seems so sweet. I know they will be really happy together! :) Hooray for happiness. I have been married for almost 2 years myself. . and I have the most amazing 4 and half month old son anyone could ask for! I am still doing free lance P.R. and we are talking about maybe getting Dax back on board with Jenn for something around Orlando. . I'm working on it. :)
  Anyway- just wanted to pop in and say hello. I've been a back filer and missed a lot of time. But I've thought you all so does that count?

  This beautiful shot was taken a month ago at the Space Needle revolving restaurant in Seattle by the waiter. I'll try to find a close-up photo of the engagement ring to post. It's gorgeous! The boss did a great job choosing the ring all by himself! Until they announced their big news to us on New Year's Eve, we didn't know when the impending engagement would take place--although we expected it would be soon. Dax did it right and asked Melissa's parents for their blessing first (good boy!), so her mom & dad were officially the first to know the great news. :-)

The ring is a beautiful 1 karat round solitaire setting (4 prong) on a platinum filigree engraved band. Very pretty and feminine.
