She bit her lip a little, her brow furrowed gently as she let out a soft breath and looked up at him. "Ah, yeah, it is..." She shrugged lightly, her voice soft. "I lost my keys..." She was kind of infamous for leaving things laying around and forgetting them but not usually her keys, especially when she was wanting to make a quick get away. Her arms wrapped around herself, over her damp long sleeved shirt that was stretched comfortably over her arms before but now was wet and a little chilly. "I thought you had somewhere to be." She questioned, her brow furrowed a little though the sentance was more of a statement than a question really, she had known he was just making excuses so he wouldn't have to be around her. "I...I should go..and get my keys." She forced a slight smile, hesitant though a little bit hurting still. She didn't want to make him feel awkward though, she didn't want to hurt him anymore than he was already hurting - if he was hurting that was. She wasn't so self assured as to think she had rocked his world or anything like that....

"I lied..." He admitted in a slightly hushed tone - just loud enough to be heard over the falling rain. His brows furrowed, he ducked his head a little and pulled one hand out of his pocket to offer up her keys which he had brought out for her. Taking one of her hands, he pressed the keys into her palm and leaned down at the same time to place a warm but brief - perhaps tentative - kiss to her lips, his eyes lightly shut even as he drew back a fraction to speak again. "I've been a jerk..." As hard as it was for him to really figure out what he was feeling, it was harder still to imagine himself as the cause of any pain for her - and she had definitely looked like her feelings were hurt to some extent when she had been in there hugging Joey earlier...
