This is fact not fiction for the first time in years




He wasn't so sure he knew what it detailed to be a father and he definitely didn't know if he was cut out for it but the past few months had shown him that he was in love with this child that his friend was carrying. He had been so amazed the first time he had felt the baby move, had been entranced by watching how Astrids body changed and shifted as she grew closer to her due date. At the moment, he was stretched out on his side on the little lounge swing that they had scrounged up somewhere on the porch, wearing a beater and some low slung gym shorts, just enjoying the warm sun for the first time in a while. A cigarette was hanging from his bottom lip and his eyes were closed, taking the few quiet minutes he had to think things over. There was no way he was going to be able to sign that baby away and if he was the father they had to have his signature before they could do anything right? A soft sigh escaped his lips as he took the smoke out of his mouth, ashing it off to the side before returning to his deep thinking.
