It was so much more guarded then it had been before, earlier in the evening she had been gazing up at him with adoring, trusting eyes. His position in her life had changed in a period of hours, dropped down to putting him with every other guy who posed a threat to her.   • She was scared of him... it was obvious... and his own gaurds came up as he backed away. If she was gonna judge him and loose all faith in him why shouldn't he do the same? He'd never laid a hand on her- never been anything but caring and supportive to her, he did't deserve her mistrust.
