Subject: Etouffee Festival

Why put “must not hold another Festival title to compete for Miss “ and then allow someone to compete and then get crowned. That is very unfair to those who worked hard to prepare themselves for an honest competition. Now no matter what agreement that contestant had with the other festival she was clearly traveling recently and promoting another Festival title with no regards as to holding out for when she would be eligible as per form states. And if this was a tittle she was looking to represent she should have waited to compete and not accepted a title she did not intend to represent for entire year.

She agreed to continue holding her teen title due to their not being any contestants, with the understanding she was not under any restrictions to compete for a miss title/ Etouffee Miss title. And I understand that however she continued to travel with that festival title so in others eyes she was a festival queens who was actively traveling and promoting another festival and should not have been allowed to compete per guidelines of Etouffee rules, or maybe it was allowed because one of the directors knows her personally and made and exception which still isn’t right. - Clearly she worked harder having come back for the second year in a row and won,she also had the same teen title last year when she competed, but she didn't win, so I love how THIS year it is a problem. Any festival has the right to release it's queen from their contract in order for them to compete. Happens ALL the time.       - She ran last year and didn't win and fulfilled her duty of crowning her successor, but no-one competed so they asked her to remain the queen, which she let the directors know she intended in running for a Miss.         Because it says on the form can’t hold another Festival Title so neither Miss or Teen should have been eligible especially if they were both actively traveling. Some people miss the whole concept of Festival Titles. (NT) -- No name, 02/15/18 8:54pm

        Believe me I didn’t compete to old to compete and would have never competed while these directors are in charge. And is director may make changes as they seem fit but at the same time they want to do what is fair for others also. (NT) -- No name, 02/15/18 9:05pm
        Also some Forms state they can’t run for any other Festival title. Some also state they may run for school or city. Not sure what is on either of those two contracts for contraband and maybe you should be also check before calling a festival out. The point is it should have been taken out of the form if this was going to be allowed. You can try to justify this all you want but it is wrong. And supposing she isn’t representing her teen title, they sure thanked her as their teen queen for being their to support her Miss smoked meat queen for Queen of Queen, this is really just really tasteless in so many ways an a lot of people agree. Both queens Miss and Teen Etouffee should have never been allowed to run while holding another title.         She/ he isn’t the only one who feels this was about what the Miss and Teen was doing And you keep trying to justify what they did was right. So if smoke meat is canceled, why are they still promoting? I’m confused. If it is true that smoke meat is not going to continue a festival, when does it become official for the queens to stop traveling, when they feel like it?
