It is definitely underrated, perhaps in part because it lacks an iconic horror star like Bela Lugosi. And it is rather short, running less minutes than either Dracula or Son of Dracula.

The famous scene with Countess Zaleska and the young model Lili (Nan Grey) is provocative and effective.

The entire cast does a great job, especially Gloria Holden and Irving Pichel.
