The underrated sequel to the 1931 Dracula, sans Bela Lugosi. Gloria Holden does a great job as Countess Marya Zaleska, while Irving Pichel is appropriately creepy as Sandor. Otto Kruger and Marguerite Churchill are the good guy and good gal, respectively, and Edward Van Sloan returns as the intrepid Professor Van Helsing.

One famous scene features a vulnerable young model (Nan Grey) posing for Countess Zaleska. The sequence had subtle erotic overtones and was rather provocative by 1936 standards.

"Sherry, Marya?"
"Thank you. I never drink. Wine."

"I am Dracula's Daughter."

Belated comments here. I pretty much agree with Tim/Rick about this movie. The players acted well, especially Gloria Holden, and Pichel was creepy as Sandor. To me, a couple iconic parts Tim mentioned..."Thank you. I never drink..wine." Also, "I am Dracula's daughter." (Whoa!!!)

The initial revelry in Transylvanian village was charming and perhaps costliest set...one could easily spot budgetary constraints throughout film. To me, if it were longer with less fog, it might have been still better. I caught some of Roemheld's segments. FG music always welcome fare.

Surely Dracula had more offspring...perhaps a new version with updated tech might be of interest, for say...."Dracula's Siblings." Perhaps a spoof. Either way, curious possibilities.
