Hi Tim,

The background color is red (hell). Had they colored the face, neck and arm color red, it would have blended in with the red behind it. Choosing blue served for a better contrast in both details and for a dramatic effect. Note when it first turns around, the contrast in colors, the full body shot, flaming arms grabbing Trixie and the final closeup.

As a kid it scared the hell out of me!
