Several people wound up playing Dracula over the decades. For me though, Bela Lugosi was tops. (Admittedly though, I considered the portrayal by Jack Palance pretty good, but I tend to enjoy Jack Palance films.) IMDb has a nice listing of Draculas.
I digress...it's Spring soon turning into Summer...maybe time for some fun, laughs. Wanna laugh packed comedy from just a few years back? It's in glorious black and white, but BEWARE! It's R rated..so keep the young ones away. This is a Tim Burton movie, with Johnny Depp playing ED WOOD, and a solid cast is included. Most memorable to me was Martin Landau, in top form, playing Bela Lugosi. Some hilarious parts, especially perhaps 1/2 hour into movie where a stage hand asks for Bela's autograph.
The stagehand says he especially enjoyed Lugosi's roll in the Invisible Ray with (Lugosi) as Karloff's "sidekick." At this point, Bela fumes and loses it...goes into a rage. Yes, expletives galore..but funny, big time. Guaranteed, you won't forget Landau's performance overall.

Ed Wood is a marvelous movie, and Martin Landau's portrayal of Bela Lugosi is amazing.

Some complain that the film is not a hundred percent accurate, which is true of this and most any other biopic. For instance, it is doubtful that Ed Wood ever encountered Orson Welles. But the spirit of the movie generally remains true to the strange story of Edward D. Wood, a Z-grade filmmaker who gave work to a nearly destitute Bela Lugosi in the 1950s.

Tim, Alan, and horror-drama fans, I bid you welcome, and do check the Flash Gordon page on Rick's site here. Happily, seems we now are linked to the Bonanza site. I posted a prelim. comment. Many fine people there also, like on all of Rick's forums here. This certainly expands things and makes it easier to reach someone or the group there....And, they can reach us! Great! Any comments, bring 'em up. Regards Torch
