Hi Rick,

I haven't seen the 1939 film, but I remember the 1945 Sherlock Holmes movie pretty well, and it's not bad. I was shopping recently and noticed all of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Universal films are for sale in two box-sets. Two more items for my Christmas list!

Hi Alan,

The 1939 film is housed at Library of Congress. I doubt Universal has it in their vault. The 45' Rathbone film is available on DVD, yes.
