Classification: Romance/Story - Harm and Mac – Action/Adventure and the events of Operation Iraqi Freedom…using the backdrop of Seasons 7&8 as the starting
point for this story.

Summary: A fanfic about one of the occurrences during Iraqi Freedom - a medal winner – did he die in combat or is he a murder victim? The idea for this story came from an article that I read in my local paper about how an Army soldier in Operation Iraqi Freedom was being investigated for a medal of honor posthumously for his actions. I wanted the JAG team to handle this kind of thing, but I knew I’d have to make an obvious change and a criminal angle to involve JAG and so the idea for this murder/mystery - action/adventure.

Paraguay happened, but I put a different twist on the tale. Takes place after Harm and Mac arrived back in the US.

A/N1: Military jargon: For those not as familiar with some of the vehicles and weapons mentioned in story, here’s a briefing:

LAV – wheeled reconnaissance, light armored vehicle used by the USMC.
AAV-7A1 – tracked amphibious armored personnel carrier used by the USMC. Will slowly be replaced by the
Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) starting later
this year.
RPG-7V – Standard Soviet/Russian rocket propelled grenade launcher called RPG. The RPG-7V and RPG-16 are used
by insurgents because they are light, portable and easy
to use.
HMMWV – Known in civilian circles as ‘Hummer’-military types call them ‘Hum-vees’.
M2HB – Standard heavy machine gun used by military.
Beretta M9/ Model 92F – Sidearm of USMC officers.
C-5 – Standard USAF heavy transport.
M1-A1 Standard main battle tank for the USMC.
AH-1W - Standard Marine Corps attack helicopter.
OT-64 - Standard wheeled personnel carrier built
by the former Czechslovakia during the Cold War. Can
have various armaments for offensive/defensive
actions; used by the both Poland and Iraq.
BRDM-2 - Built by Russia and used by almost every former
Soviet/Russian ally. A good dependable reconnaissance
vehicle. Many countries have been upgraded theirs with western armaments and engines.

In the upcoming battle scenes, I'll try to include
notes so that people can understand a little about
the weapons involved in the fighting.
