Welcome to the Worrisome Mothers Club! You have every right to be paranoid, it's part of the job description. DO NOT feel stupid or afraid to ask your doctor ANYTHING. If you're not comfortable asking them, then you need to switch doctors. My pediatrician always treats me like I'm the 3rd patient. I have twins, and believe me, I've asked my Dr. some crazy stuff, but if it makes me feel better, then it was worth it!
We did IVF as well, and I think that brings on a whole other realm of doubt. I sometimes worry that every little thing is some genetic malformity because they're IVF babies. There are a lot of things that the "fertiles" miss out on. Yeah, they may have gotten knocked up easily, but they will never look at their babies the way we do. I think God gives us a special bond with our children as an exchange for our patience and heartache. I'm not saying that they love their children less than we do. You just don't know what it's like unless you've been down this road, and when you're up at 3 am for a feeding, it isn't as bad because you've been waiting so long to do this. I digress though, just know that you have the right to feel anyway you want, no one thinks you're crazy, and you've traveled a long way to get where you are.
