Reading your blog entries, I am struck by two things: You are unhealthily OBSESSED with your weight. With your looks. With your possessions. With yourself in general. Like, how many times do you mention shopping and trying on clothes? Too many. Throw away your scale. Turn outward (away from the mirror) for a change.

Second, by the age of nine months, I was walking, I was potty-trained and I was speaking in complete sentences. (Or so it says in my baby book, kept scrupulously by my mom.) Your daughter has serious issues that should be treated immediately. Physical therapy, a complete neurological rundown. The whole schmear. While you were dressing her up like one of Paris Hilton's chihuahuas, she was obviously not developing normally.

You're not a dumb woman. Just so self-focused you can't see that your daughter has real problems.

Hi Kellie,

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's mom. I just had a man who is practically my grandpa pass away this morning. It is a very said time.

Also, I didn't start walking until I was about 14 months, so don't worry about Emma. My mom liked it, actually, that she could sit me down with a book and I would still be sitting patiently when she returned. 21 years later, I am proud to say nothing has changed in that regard. :) I would still rather sit and read than do much else. :)

Take care Kellie!

Hey Kellie,

Don't worry I didn't start walking until I was 14 mo. My Mom was pregnant with my sister and had a fear that she would be carrying two around. I was always a late bloomer, but I am now a successful woman in my career and I just had my first baby. Emma will walk in her own time. Every baby is different. People can be cruel during pregnancy and then you think it will end after but it doesn't, and it is worse cause it is sometimes directed toward your child. The Mamma Bear has already reared her head in me and my son is only eight weeks. You just try to be the best Mom you can and forget about all those who have no room to judge.

Hi, Kellie-
Please pass along my condolences to your friend. I lost my dad when I was only 13, and not a day goes by (I'll be 44 on Wed 9/12) that I don't think about him & wish he were still here with me.
Secondly, please pass those same condolences along to your parents for their loss. I'm sure some people think "it's just a dog" but those of us who are pet-lovers know they are much, much more. I had to have my sweet schnauzer put down last year--I had him 14 years, also. It's very, very painful. If they haven't read the "Rainbow Bridge" google it and give it to them to read. It'll make you cry, but also make you feel better, too. And don't ever doubt that those pets are in heaven...
PS: Your baby is beautiful! I would love to pinch those chubby cheeks! She's perfect, and doing everything in God's timing. Enjoy!

Try shopping at Dollar Gen. or Dollar Tree stores. They usually have cutesy halloween decorations that would apply for little one's(i.e. not to scary). That's where most preschool teachers go for party decorations. Can't wait to see party pics.

Kellie you are the most coragious woman I have had the pleasure of listening to!!!

I am raising my 2 children by my self. I am 29 Years old and they are 16 months appart. I was physically abused by my ex husband!!! I nearly lost my daughter when I was only 14 weeks along. I left him 2 years ago as of Sept. 15th. She is now 1 and her brother is 2.

I work 40 hours a week and volenteer my time on saturdays to help with the united way!! I get to see my kids for only a few hours in the evenings!! (we spend it eating and reading adn bathing and doing laundry)

This is heart breaking to me they go to a daycare from 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening because my commute is lengthy.

Your daughter is blessed to be able to stay at home with a nanny where she is comfortable and healthy. You also have a job that allows you to spend more quality time with her in the good part of her day. You both can enjoy it more.

My children have been sick so many times that they have both had tubes in there ears and are now listed as alergic to 7 different anti-biotics. They have been bit and pushed around by other kids and so much more.

Kellie you have the most beautiful little girl. She looks like a very happy healthy little baby and I have faith that you will continue to let her know that she is a blessing from God and the light of your life.

Just know that moms no matter what all have a common bond and should use that bond to back one another not try to break them down. They should lift each other up in words actions and most of all PRAYER!!! Just know that I am Praying for you and Emma Kellie daily. Best wishes and good luck!!! Stay strong!!!!

Hey I think it's greatyou're doing her birthday on the 27th. My baby will be 2 on the same day! I thought about having a costume party for his birthday, but since we live in South Texas (Corpus Christi) I figured all the kids would get too sweaty in their costumes. But I think that is a really good idea. I got the most recent Oriental Trading catalog and they do have some things in there you could use for her party. Best of luck to you!

You might want to try the Oriental Trading Company. I believe their website is www.orientaltrading.com. If that is not the right website just google them. I have used them for every school party my son has had and he is now 10. I have also used them for my daughter's preschool parties. Hope this helps!

Wanted to let you know there is a store called "Sample House and Candleshop" that has cute Halloween plates and decorations. They aren't scary at all! I go there every year and buy from them. They have several locations around the metroplex...you can get the addresses and phone numbers online. Good luck! Sounds like it is going to be very cute and exciting!

Kellie,

My deepest sympathies to your friend and your mom. My mother-in-law had a stroke several years ago and for awhile they were not sure if she would make it or not. Thank God, she has made an almost complete recovery but I remember what those first few days were like. My husband is very close to his mother and it was very difficult for him to accept that she might not pull through. I came to the same realization that you have about your parents and no longer take time with my parents for granted.

As for your mom, I have 2 dogs who mean the world to me, one of which is named Sugar Bear too. He's getting up in age and I know how heartbroken I will be when it's his time to go.

Again my deepest sympathies to both.

Kellie, So sorry to hear of your friend's Mother.

My family has dealt with the aftermath of a severe stroke and if there is any light in this dark tunnel, it is that she passed quickly. No rehab, no loss of motor skills, thinking, feeling, eating, etc. Trust me, she is in a much better place with happiness and health right now.

Seeing someone you love try to recover from a severe stroke is simply heartbreaking. Almost impossible to deal with. I pray in thanks that the LORD took her quickly and peacefully.

Which won't happen I have 4 kids and a husband but they are worried about my blood pressure which is 140/90 at 8:30 a.m.

Hi Kellie! I've listened to the show forever & use to be a Kellie- hater. Now that you're a mother, my opinions about you have changed. I can tell that you love your daughter with all your heart & only want the best for her. Here are a few suggestions to help you during "single" parenthood (I have about 15 yrs. under my belt!).
1)Always listen- not just hear your child
2)Just because you have the means to spoil your child doesn't mean you have to. (Humble beginnings)
3)Start an open & honest relationship ASAP. It will only grow stronger.
My children are extremely successful in almost everything they do & things that aren't so easy to conquer- well that's just fine too! One other thing, watch what you say about your feelings concerning your weight in front of Emma Kellie. You know how it felt growing up with these conflicting thoughts. Exposing these thoughts in front her may mislead her into thinking it's normal to feel that way about herself. I NEVER felt that way growing up & I credit my mom with that because I never heard her say anything of that sort. You are your baby's foundation- continue to build it strong.
P.S. Those bows on your baby's head are obnoxious and I LOVE them. She's darling- you sure know how to bake a cake!

Kellie,

I totally agree with your diary entry addressing that vicious person about how much she did when she was Emma Kelly's age! Right on!

Every baby is different. Comparing them is fun, but should not be taken to heart. For example, my niece crawled for two weeks then went straight to walking at nine months old. My other niece, who's only 3 months younger, didn't walk until she was older. Guess what else? The one who was walking sooner wasn't even breastfed! She was allergic to it, actually, and would vomit violently after ingesting it.

You are so right to celebrate your baby's milestones as they come, even if they're not when the baby manual says they should happen. I'm glad that you are doing this. The baby feels this from you, too. Maybe that's why she smiles so much. Hmmmm....

Emma Kelly is a beautiful little girl! She will continue to surprise you and give you so much joy!

Enlighten me... what is the deal with women shaving their legs ONLY if they have a hot date? I can't tell you how many times I've heard a woman say... "I even shaved my legs for you!"

Shouldn't women always shave their legs? I shave my face all the time so that I don't appear to be an extra in the Geico caveman commercials. Don't women adhere to the same basic principal?

I love the pics of Emma my husband and I thought she was completely adorable :) We can beat ourselves down Kelly we just can't let everyone else do it for us. I think we all have our bodily concerns an such but only the honest few have enough nerve to talk about it and be like "what-whatever" and say it. Thank you for being so you and being able to be confortable in your own skin ( at least enough to say what you think and not hide it). I have been listening since OMG probably '96 and I have to admit I was not your biggest fan but wow life goes full circle and I can so relate at times. From how you dream of what life would be to how it smacks you in the face. I just wanted to tell you I think you are doing a great job - I know how hard it can be being a single mother - after I had my second child my ex-hubby decided he needed his freedom so there I was - alone and with two kids. That was four years ago. I have total admiration toward women who aren't afraid to tell their stories and arent afraid to admit when the tought times kick in! It is NOT easy and it doesnt make it any better when you have people slamming you ever time you turn around! So I just want you to know - YOU GO GIRL! I think it's awesome how strong you are and don't let other people get to you - you have a beautiful daughter and you have your health, men and love will come your way when it is time, be patient and let it find you!

Why do you think that you are a chunk?? Isn't a camera supposed to put 50 lbs on a person? If that was 50 extra pounds added to you then you are a total bone rack! You look great--don't change a thing. Also, are you tall? I'm 6 foot and tower over all of my friends, but I can always find my car (while they have to set off their car alarms and follow the sound) I noticed in most of the pictures you are taller than Kidd (hehehe I would call him short too!) Tall girls ROCK. Take care and give that baby a hug and kiss for me~

Kellie,

I was reading some of your back messages when I came across your response to that "nasty" woman. I congratulate you for your response. I am proud of the way you handled yourself and you have every right to brag about your daughter and dress her in whatever outfit you like. The pictures are beautiful. I think you should be proud of your daughter and she will grow into such a beautiful young woman just like her mother. I like how you talk about your insecurities on the air and in your diary. Most women don't get a chance to get it out there like you can. I too am so insecure about my looks, from my hair to my body. The weight is very hard to get off and I am hoping to get back to a size 10. I have these great Levis, bootleg, boy cut size 10 jeans that I can't seem to get rid of.

On a second note. I emailed you when you were trying to get pregnant and told you about my sister. My sister and brother -n- law were having the same problems and it finally worked, with twins. Be careful,I must warn you. They just delivered their second set of twin just one year and two weeks to the date of their first set. This set came very naturally. They never thought they could get pregnant on their own. They now have three boys and a girl all a year and under. Mom and boys are heading home today from the hospital. I keep joking with her that I am going to send her story to Oprah. LOL Her healthy two boys shocked us all to death.

Best of luck with dating and being a single mom and send me some dating luck this way.

Lots of Love and best wishes,

Vicky

Kellie,

I used the Jergens Glow lotion last year, and it worked great. It slowly gives you a sun kissed glow tan, and it comes in 3 different shades. I have a fair complexion so I used the one for light skin, and I really liked it. I have never heard about the wipes you are referring to, but I would suggest the lotion over the wipes. I think it costs around $6 and it's well worth it! Good luck with it!

Kellie, a slight tan is as easy as putting lotion on your legs and arms -- I assume you use lotion! Coppertone, Jergens -- they all make pump lotions you just apply like lotion. They are very slight color, but they ARE color. I put some on every day, even dressed for work, I'll add some to my bare legs really quickly. It's not like the old orange tanners, these are like having been in the sun a bit, and they don't smell nasty nor are they greasy, and they don't discolor your clothes. (well, don't wear white when putting them on though)

I recommend the Coppertone, it's cheaper, slight pleasant scent. I think it's called daily glow.

By the way, lots of people like a tan because they think it makes them look thinner -- and it actually does. Thought you might like that added benefit!

It's true that guys tend to like tanned bodies. The tender white body color is not as treasured as it was 2 centuries ago. Add some color! I never get color on my face, but I do put color on my body, legs, arms, chest. At least try the coppertone daily moisturizer w/color on your legs!

Have a great idea...Obviously some people get their kicks by attacking Kellie (and her daughter) and then watching the feeding frenzy that follows. Feeds their ego that they got everyone talking. How about this instead: in the future when someone starts hating, we just ignore them? Let comments by narcissistic Leah and dumba** "A Man" just go and maybe they will go away...

Hi Kellie!

I read your diary this morning about the tanning wipes. I have been considering trying them for months and just can't get myself to do it. Instead, I wallow in my glowing pastiness and enviously stare down all of the bronzed beauty cuties that are around me.

Let me know if they really work and how easy they are. Do they streak, do they stink, etc.

You are the BEST and you make the show!!!

Let me tell you that I loved your diary entry to Ms. Leah McNair. Thank you for saying everything the way you said it and it made me laugh so loud my throat hurts, a good hurt. She may never know what moments like that feel like and then again she may never even have the chance to have a baby let alone anticipate the major mile stone moments in a babys life. Keep getting indignant and addressing people "the Kellie way" I love it! A mom of a 12 year daughter- Isabella.

Hey Kellie!!! I love you on the show, your honest, say your opinion and do not back down when someone throws you a challenge. I cannot believe that stupid person whos greatest acheivement in life happened at 9 months and has seemed to stop there. She is jelious because Emma Kelly is cute and everyone loves her. As for her comments about you, that was not just disrespectful but also innapropriate. What women doesn't look at herself the in the mirror but it takes a woman of great integrity to see ok I have some things about I don't like so I am going to fix that, which is what you are doing. You have a great spirit. The fact that she commpared your child to a dog is beyond the most obnoxious thing ever. When I was little I wore big bows and cute dresses and I graduated at the top half of my class, I work at an animal hospital for the last 5 years and I am now working on a business degree so that woman has no idea what she is talking about. Once again she is jelious and misreable with her own life and is trying to make you upset. So you send your voodoo!!!
much love and support

Is Kidd and Carol still married? I never hear him talk about her anymore. He used to talk about her all the time and even call her during the show.

Just wondered...

I'm so jealous you are going to Hawaii!!

You HAVE to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Sounds boring, but oh my gosh, it was the best part of our trip!!

You can buy an Entertainment Coupon Book and get buy one get one free (well, at least the year I went you could). I think the book costs $20-25 and you get lots of buy one get one free coupons. Just using the one for the PCC will save $50. You can get the coupon book off the internet or some of the shops in Hawaii sold them. I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and they sold them in some of the shops there.

Have lots of fun!!!!

At first I thought the Kiddy Kat thing was very funny--and the girls look wonderful!

but now I am thinking, and don't judge me!--that is was a rather slutty thing for the guys to ask the girls to do. That was a bit of a sexual harrassment play there.

I know not everyone will agree. But, I would be very mad if I was asked to strut around like that=--for my job--on You Tube.

Kellie I just have to let you know that your little Emma Kelly is just about one of the cutest baby girls I have seen. Her most recent pictures are too cute!! I have just recently started to read your diaries. Skipping here and there. And then started tonight reading from the past to present. Well I must admit that I haven't been worth anything for the past few days at work. I have been staying up on the computer reading your diaries til' midnight or later and it's like a wonderful suspense book that keeps you reading and wanting to come back for more. I really take to you because I too am a single mother. And I just like to see how other single moms are doing and dealing with the ups and downs. I have a little boy who is 11 months. Funny how the time flies by huh? I just want to tell you like many other mothers have, that Emma Kelly is developing just fine. Hey atleast she has teeth. My little man still wont cut any. The bumps are there, but nothing yet. So maybe if they could meet, then Emma Kelly could teach him how to get some darn teeth and he could teach her how to walk. LOL. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Kellie, Your little angel is sooo cute! You and I are about the same age, we got married about the same time, and had / have step-children, got pregnant about the same time and our babies are about the same age! How about that! My little bundle of joy is now 10 months; her name is Ally. At first I was very hard on myself about just now having a baby at my age. However, I am glad I waited. I cherish every special moment with my baby girl. We look good at our age with our little angels! After I returned back to work and started listening to the show again, I heard about your divorce very briefly. To this day I do not know when or what happened. I just want you to know that you seem like a very strong woman and give you 100% credit for being a great Mom to Emma. Keep up the good work; you look so happy with your baby!! Joy!

Pay not attention to what Leah McNair said. Your baby is beautiful and perfectly normal. And you aren't self obsessed, you're just a woman. I'm the same way, if not worse....just ask my husband-to-be.

I also wanted to say that I just started listening to the show about two months ago (when I moved from Ohio to New Orleans)and it's by far the best morning show I've ever experienced!!

Kelly,
I like you so much. I enjoy the show immensely, but you seem to reflect some of the feelings that I have about things, so I identify with you more than others on the program. Apparently, some bloggers take the time to write really hateful emails. The darkness of the soul of someone who would look up the blog of someone just to tell them how much they suck is weird.AND speaking of obsessed watch out for that crazy woman, she sounds like she is obsessed with YOU. I mean, if you do not like someone and do not agree with them, would you take the time to listen to their radio show and read their personal blog and then post somethings for them.
These are signs of neurosis.
love you though,
Amber
