Kelly, I was listening yesterday when your entry was read on air. I could not believe the nerve of this woman. She speaks of herself and her baby book, so scrupulously kept by her mother, but does she have children of her own? Does she know what it's like to be a mother and raise children. I highly doubt it, especially if she is actually using exerpts from her baby book as comparison points to child milestones and accomplishments. As a mother there are times we become so excited about our children and their accomplishments that we rrecord their first smile at 3 days old, when it was more than likely just gas, but don't you tell us that because we KNOW our baby was smiling because she was happy.

But enough of that I just wanted to come here and tell you not to listen to that crazy woman, there is nothing wrong with Emma, all children develop at their own rate. Both my boys were walking and talking before they were a year old. I worried with my daughter because she did not talk for the longest time and she refused to walk. I wont even get into the potty training. I thought there was something wrong. I took her in for testing and they could find nothing. Then one day, she just started walking, not one or two steps, the child just took off....she was already 2. Soon after that she looked at me and asked for a "tookie pwease". Clear as day, she was 2 and a half, and she hasn't stopped since. I think she had just spent all her time "studying" until she was confident she would do it right.

She is now 17 taking honors classes and applying for college, she wants to be a pediatrician. This is just proof that children will develop at their own rate, when they are ready things will happen.

Forget the Leah McNair's of the world, they obviously have no idea what they are talking about.Keep your head up, You are doing a wonderful job with Emma and are a great mommy!
Have a Wonderful Day
Trish
