Hi Kellie,

Had to comment on the very misguided message about your adorable daughter's development. I am a social worker in early intervention, which means I work with children who have developmental delays. Perhaps the lady who wrote you was a prodigy - I am certainly not going to dispute that she developed the way she said. However, walking, talking in complete sentences and being potty trained at 9 months is NOT the norm.

Typically, at age 1 kids are starting to say single words. Many kids walk by 1 but we really don't start worrying about them until about 16 months. And potty trained at 9 months??? A child must be able to speak and understand the basics of going potty before being able to do so. But all children develop at their own pace and unless something is really off, then I'd leave the child alone to do her thing! She'll probably be just fine. If you do ever get concerned, get an eval through ECI in Texas and know for sure.
