hey john. very strange that, as i was there in 65 running the chicken house.the chicken house was brand new and a boy from cheshunt named thom was the first boy to run it was the schools pride and joy at that time and i replaced thom as the chicken boy and big allan thorpe from london was the tractor driver he was also my pal and remember him very well. but i struggle there is a book well not a book as such a sort of record just to say it existed called crouchfield , history of the herts training school 1857-1982 by dorothy abel smith yes a relation to one of the founders . anyway i got this sorta book and there is no mention of a mr webber who was head pigman a truly great man along with mr pendrill head dairyman ,ok mr buzzard was mentioned he to was was a good friend but why he was mentioned i feel i should not say on this board. there is mention of a mr joshua head pigman did you know a mr joshua or mr webber or am i mixing the two if you could please clear this up for i would be most gratefull to you. im so pleased things turned out for you m8 all the best, it truly was good.
